How Can My Facility Become an NC Pre-K Site?
WCSS is accepting applications from 4- and 5-star child care centers in Wake County that are interested in becoming NC Pre-K sites for 2020-23. Original, completed applications are due to the WCSS office by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2020. Please click here to access the 2020-23 Site Application plus additional information.
A child care facility must apply to be considered as a Wake County Pre-K program site. To be eligible a center must:
- Be willing to accept children receiving subsidy for their care;
- Use Creative Curriculum in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom;
- Limit classes to a maximum of 18 children, with a teacher to students ratio of 1 to 9; and
- Meet all of the program guidelines mandated by the NC Pre-Kindergarten Program.
WCSS uses the NC Department of Health and Human Services Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) NC Pre-K Standardized Site Selection Process to choose and approve sites for participation in the NC Pre-K Program.
