“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela

KID CONNECT: Community Capacity Building Workshops

Does your community group, faith outreach, or volunteer team interact with families with young children in Wake County? We want to partner with you to help make sure every child has access to the support and resources they need to build a strong foundation in the early years.

DID YOU KNOW that the brain grows faster from birth to age 5 than at any other time in a person’s life? During their first few years, children are literally building the foundation that will support all future learning.

Let’s work together to get more families connected when it matters the most!

KID CONNECT workshops and conversations can take some stress off your team and make it easier to link more families with FREE programs to:

  • Find quality child care
  • Prepare children for Kindergarten
  • Help with concerns about child development or behavior
  • Support new parents, caregivers, and pregnant women
  • Promote early literacy skills and encourage reading
  • And more!

Learn more below and register for a FREE Kid Connect workshop or conversation today! For more information, contact Nikki McDougald, Community Outreach Specialist, or call 919-723-9279.

“It doesn’t matter how many great early childhood programs your county has if parents can’t find and access those programs. In collaboration with community partners, we are creating simple and direct paths for information and access so that we can connect any child in need with the best resources we have to offer.”

– Rev. Carla Gregg-Kearns, Pastor at Good Shepherd United Church of Christ in Cary

Goal
