Expanding the Breastfeeding Network of Support

Continuing the news during National Breastfeeding Month, WCSS is pleased to announce the addition of a new partner to our Wake Connections network: WIC Breastfeeding Support!

WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Support is housed within Wake County Human Services. This program provides peer counselors who are mothers who have breastfed their own children and have been trained in breastfeeding support. They are available during pregnancy and postpartum to help other mothers breastfeed successfully.

WIC Breastfeeding Support and all the Wake Connections partners can be accessed with a single click at wakeconnections.org.

*Shape NC: Healthy Starts for Young Children is an initiative of Smart Start and BCBSNC Foundation. It is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, Social Innovation Fund and managed by WCSS.
